Welcome to my website!

I am a final-year PhD student in astrophysics at the Anton Pannekoek Institute for Astronomy at University of Amsterdam. My research focuses on observations of accretion onto neutron stars and black holes, using X-ray, radio, and IR observations.

In 2018, I discovered that even the most strongly magnetic neutron stars can launch radio jets, despite theory predicting otherwise. These results were published in Nature in September 2018. The video below briefly explains the discovery and its impact.

More press coverage of this work, and my other research, is listed here. See here for Radio/X-ray data of neutron stars and black holes.
